The reply pump's except RuntimeError resolved the module global at runtime, so a __main__.RuntimeError rebind could make a closed-loop scheduling failure escape the catch, killing the pump and stranding every later reply. Bind RuntimeError into a _run local alongside BaseException and catch the local.
