Document the codebase thoroughly and tighten type safety Docs: per-folder README.md for packages/ (family overview + one per package: service, events, API, extension points, TODOs), examples/, and examples/echo-agent/; folder-level AGENTS.md (+ CLAUDE.md symlinks) for packages/ and vendor/; module-level doc comments in every packages/*/src file; richer JSDoc on all exported API (event side effects, disposal contracts, error behavior). Root AGENTS.md gains a "Type Safety and Documentation" policy section: the codebase aims to be very type-safe and well documented; type gymnastics are acceptable in core packages when they improve plugin-author DX; verbose docs are fine as long as they stay strictly in sync with the code. Type safety: removed the upstream-inherited "noImplicitAny": false from tsconfig.base.json — packages/* now compile under full strict mode; vendor/loader and vendor/include set it locally (vendor/cordis already did). Eliminated every `: any` / `as any` from packages and examples (catch clauses use unknown + a CodedError narrowing type; event data access uses discriminated-union narrowing). Typed tool schemas: new @deepseek-ai/dsh-tools schema DSL — SchemaSpec with per-property `required: true` booleans, type-level InferArgs<S>, a runtime SchemaSpec → JSON Schema converter, and defineTool() so first-party tools get typed execute(args) with zero casts (raw JSON Schema still accepted for MCP interop; chosen over schemastery because it targets JSON Schema generation directly). echo-tool and all test tools migrated; +7 tests.

English | [中文](README.zh.md)
Runnable demos (not workspaces) that showcase how the harness is wired. Each example is a **thin leaf**: either a `cordis.yml` tree that picks swappable backends and loads one app package, or an **overlay** — a patch list `dsh --config` applies over the shipped composition ([`apps/cli/config/base.cordis.yml`](../apps/cli/config/base.cordis.yml) plus a surface overlay). Bundled compositions live in [`@deepseek-ai/dsh-cli-demo`](../packages/examples/cli-demo), [`@deepseek-ai/dsh-acp-demo`](../packages/examples/acp-demo), and their shared [`@deepseek-ai/dsh-agent-spine-demo`](../packages/examples/agent-spine-demo) bundle; the `dsh` surfaces use flat config trees instead. There is no `start.ts`; the terminal `demo:*` scripts boot through the [`dsh`](../apps/cli/README.md) CLI, and the headless/ACP scripts invoke the `cli-demo`/`acp-demo` bins.

## mcp-memory
Three default-off reference overlays connect a memory MCP server through the generic MCP client. Pick one file and pass it to `dsh --config`; DSH does not install or configure the upstream memory system. See [mcp-memory/README.md](mcp-memory/README.md) for pinned prerequisites, identity mapping, the shared optional prompt, and the write → fresh-session recall → use verification recipe.

A non-interactive agent demo that accepts one positional task, runs one complete model/tool turn on the `@deepseek-ai/dsh-cli-demo` app, persists a fresh session, prints `text`, `json`, or `stream-json`, and exits.

Run with: `pnpm run demo:headless "task"` (needs `DEEPSEEK_API_KEY`). See [headless-agent/README.md](headless-agent/README.md) for the output contract, safety boundaries, and snapshot suite.

## jsonrpc-agent
refactor(examples): extract the app spine into dsh-agent-core + app packages Implements docs/rfc/.../2026-06-20-extract-example-app-packages.md. Each example was thick — a hand-rolled start.ts, an infra preamble, nested base.yml/base-core.yml/acp-tail.yml includes, and a coupled front-door cluster enforced only by prose. This moves the composition into packages so each example is a thin leaf cordis.yml: pick the swappable backends, load one app package. New packages: - @deepseek-ai/dsh-agent-core (packages/core/agent-core): one bundle plugin that loads the providerless/executor-less/UI-less spine (timer + llm + sessions + system-prompt + tools + agents + invariants + tool-bash + agent-loop) via ctx.plugin(...) inside apply(), and forwards agent-loop's `agents` list as its own Config (export const Config = AgentLoop.Config, default []). - @deepseek-ai/dsh-stdio-agent (packages/ui/stdio-agent): terminal chat APP — agent-core + console logger + readline UI + a pre-created `main` agent, with a bin. The demo:echo/coding front door. - @deepseek-ai/dsh-acp-agent (packages/ui/acp-agent): ACP server APP — agent-core + JSONL persistence + the acp bridge, NO stdout logger, with a bin. The stdout-purity footgun is structurally unreachable from the leaf. Amendment to the RFC: hmr stays a LEAF cordis.yml entry, not baked into dsh-stdio-agent. hmr is a Loader-only dev plugin (throws without --expose-internals; the in-process test tier can't even import its decorator form), so a package statically importing it could never carry the per-file coverage gate. Unlike the console logger, a stray hmr is not a stdout-purity footgun, so leaving it at the leaf costs no safety. With hmr out, all three new packages carry in-process unit specs at 100%. Boot glue (Loader tail, .env load, snapshot-mode selection, stdin-dispose lifecycle) moves into each app's bin; start.ts and base.yml/base-core.yml/ acp-tail.yml are deleted. Each app package gets a keyless real-load-path test that boots through its bin + the cordis Loader (guarding the unwrapExports export-shape bug class, postmortem 0001). ACP snapshot replay stays green against the existing committed goldens (pure boot restructuring). RFC moved proposed->implemented with the amendment recorded; package/example/architecture docs and the module graph updated.

An unattended coding agent driven through the Python SDK: JSON-RPC stdio, foreground-only `bash`, `read` / `write` / `edit`, one foreground `subagent`, `todo_write`, JSONL persistence, and compaction. It excludes terminal UI, stdout logging, approvals, skills, and background task controls. See [jsonrpc-agent/README.md](jsonrpc-agent/README.md).
feat: Code Mode — the registry's mode config, the SDK codegen, and the run_code bridge The dsh-tools half of the Code Mode RFC (its fourth, final change): the registry gains its first config — mode: native | code | both — and OWNS how its tools reach the model. 'code' contributes exactly one wire tool, run_code, plus a lazy tools:sdk prompt section declaring every other tool as a generated TypeScript API (jsonSchemaToTs: total over the defineTool subset, unknown degradation, lexicographic byte-identical rendering); 'both' ships both representations; 'native' is byte-for-byte the old behavior. Non-native modes fail every assembly loudly without a typescript-language ctx.codeRuntime. run_code's dispatch bridge: JSON-normalizes each binding argument before dispatch (what dispatches is what the tool/code-dispatch event logs — the append can never fail on payload shape; BigInt/circulars reject that one call), serializes all program tool calls through a per-run queue (even Promise.all — no concurrency-safety metadata yet), routes every sub-call through tools/pre-execute → tools/post-execute (a deny rejects the program-side promise), drops sub-call additionalContext (no safe outlet mid-run; pinned), owns a run-scoped abort that follows the outer signal in and fires on settlement (in-flight sub-dispatch aborted, queued abandoned, queue drained before returning), and converts a failed run into CodeRunFailedError → a structured isError carrying kind + captured logs. tool/code-dispatch joins SessionEventMap by declaration merging (log-only; deriveMessages ignores it). The composed surface: the tools config forwards through agent-core and both app packages; examples/code-agent + demo:code run the worker runtime under mode code (keyless boot smoke + a with-key e2e proving the collapsed [run_code] header, the dispatch events, and the file the program wrote); two new snapshot scenarios (code-mode-turn, both-mode-turn) record the SDK section, collapsed header, dispatch events, and result card — each its own header-pinning class (the harness gains per-scenario config overlays and per-class pins). Catalogs, graphs, cookbook, hooks-bridge notes, and the RFC (moved to implemented/, restructured to decision-era headings) updated in the same change.

refactor(cli)!: one shared base config with per-surface overlays `dsh` shipped two config trees that were 43 rows the same: apps/cli/cordis.yml composed web as 74 flat rows, while the TUI booted examples/tui-agent/cordis.yml whose single `@deepseek-ai/dsh-tui-demo` row mounted twelve plugins behind a twenty-key pass-through Config. Neither file was what its location claimed — apps/cli hardcoded the "example" as the product default and the "demo" bundle was the application — and every capability change had to be made twice. - apps/cli/base.cordis.yml holds the 43 shared rows; tui.cordis.yml and web.cordis.yml are patch lists stating only what differs per surface - overlays apply as SIBLING patch lists at one include level, because include patches never cross an include boundary. Precedence: base < surface < (--config | personal ~/.dsh/config.yaml) < launcher flag/profile patches - `--config` now applies an overlay INSTEAD OF the personal one, so a demo or test tree never inherits the user's route; new `--config-replace` boots a file as the entire tree (the old `--config` behaviour). Both survive /resume - vendor/include: index each `insert`ed row as it is added so a later patch can configure or disable it. Upstream built the id index once before the patch loop, leaving every surface-only row — the whole TUI front door — silently unpatchable from user config. Logged as local modification 8 - session identity moves to dsh-agent-loop's CONFIGURED_AGENT_IDENTITIES_KEY; dsh-tui's MAIN_SESSION_ID_KEY is deleted (only the bundle read it) - delete examples/tui-agent, examples/cordis-agent, packages/examples/tui-demo; TUI tests → apps/cli/tests, cordis e2e → packages/cordis/tool-cordis/tests, examples/code-mode survives as an overlay leaf - `dsh web` gains --config, threaded into AppCLIEntry as an extra overlay Three latent defects surfaced and are fixed here: the TUI captured the optional sessionQuery service once at construction and could permanently disable /resume when it won the mount race; the session-store root silently reverted to a project-local ./.sessions; --config-replace was dropped by the resume handoff. Verified by booting each tree through the real Loader (TUI 55 entries, web 75, zero unsettled) rather than reading YAML. All eight terminal snapshots replay byte-identically; 14/14 PTY smoke, 112/112 snapshots, 25/25 doc-sync, hygiene and lint clean.

## web-cordis
The **self-referential** demo: the coding spine plus [`@deepseek-ai/dsh-tool-cordis`](../packages/cordis/tool-cordis), whose three tools (`cordis_inspect` / `cordis_mount` / `cordis_unmount`) let the agent inspect the current DSH process, mount model-written temporary Plugins (an event listener, a brand-new tool, or a service another temporary Plugin injects), and unmount them again. These Plugins exist only in memory and share one internal `cordis-dynamic` fiber subtree; `ctx.fs`/`ctx.web` ride along provider-only as capabilities they can use.

Run the browser UI at `http://127.0.0.1:3081` with `pnpm run demo:cordis`, or the ACP server with `pnpm run demo:cordis acp` (both need `DEEPSEEK_API_KEY`). See [the toolset Agent Note](../.agents/notes/implemented/feature/2026-07-08-self-referential-cordis-toolset.md) for the design and sandbox caveats.

## acp-agent
An agent exposed as an **Agent Client Protocol (ACP)** automation server over JSON-RPC stdio, via [`@deepseek-ai/dsh-acp-demo`](../packages/examples/acp-demo). Programmatic clients create fresh sessions, send text prompts, consume committed assistant text, answer one-shot permission requests, and cancel work. It owns the ACP keyless snapshot suite.

Run with: `pnpm run demo:acp` (needs `DEEPSEEK_API_KEY`); `pnpm run demo:code-mode` boots the same server in Code Mode via the `code-mode.cordis.yml` overlay. See [acp-agent/README.md](acp-agent/README.md) for the protocol and snapshot-test contracts.
feat(mode): exit_plan_mode + the ACP session-mode picker + scriptable review answers Plan mode's stage 2 (RFC 2026-07-07-plan-mode). The exit tool: one required plan argument (the durable log artifact), execute re-checks the folded mode, then conducts the review over the user-interaction seam — one single-select question (Approve / Keep planning) with free text open — so an approval appends mode/set back to default in-turn and every other outcome (keep-planning feedback verbatim, aborted, no provider) returns the corrective isError with the mode unchanged. presentCall is a generic card titled by the plan's first heading carrying the plan markdown; over ACP the review rides the ask_user elicitation flow, in the terminal the stdio prompt queue — no approval-seam dependency. The ACP bridge maps the picker 1:1 onto ctx.modes (opportunistic, a type-only peer edge): session/new + session/load advertise availableModes/currentModeId, session/set_mode validates through set() and echoes an optimistic current_mode_update (the pending mode IS the selection; the logged mode/set lands at the boundary and, matching, is not re-sent), and a session/event listener re-notifies on each logged flip that differs from the last sent — the tool-driven exit updates the picker. The feature matrix rows move from 'not modeled' to the picker-to-modes / knobs-to-config-options division, with the ACP v2 removal direction recorded as a mechanical-migration risk. The snapshot harness gains the setMode/setModeExpectError ops and a scripted elicitationAnswers FIFO (cancel on exhaustion; a stray choice string reaches the agent verbatim as a non-consenting custom answer, so a scenario bug fails safe). The suite factory's header-pin requirement now applies only to model-turn scenarios — a protocol-only suite has no header content to anchor. examples/plan-acp-agent is the live composition; its keyless modes-advertise scenario pins the wire surface (advertisement, both set_mode round-trips, unknown-id rejection). The recorded plan-mode approve/reject arc awaits a with-key recording session; its texts are pinned at the unit tier meanwhile. examples/AGENTS.md ceiling 653 → 680: the new example's required smoke row does not fit the old budget.
2026-07-10 02:57:40 +08:00
The default `cordis.yml` composes [`@deepseek-ai/dsh-sandbox-local`](../packages/sandbox/sandbox-local), [`@deepseek-ai/dsh-bash-sandbox`](../packages/bash/bash-sandbox), and [`@deepseek-ai/dsh-user-approval`](../packages/ui/user-approval). `workspace-write` confines bash and filesystem mutations to each session workspace; a wider retry becomes a one-shot machine permission request over ACP.
